We immobilize enzymes on colloidal particles and use these particle-enzyme conjugates for synthesis of drug precursors and bioethanol. Another application of catalysis, which we explore, is design of externally controlled microswimmers. The essence of this approach is to deposit Pt layer on the top of polymer bilayer, which consist of two polymers with different properties. The bilayer with Pt rolls and forms a tube. These tubes are able to self-propel in solution of hydrogen peroxide due to formation of oxygen bubbles.
